Guest Speaker: QinQin Yu

On June 15th, 2020, QinQin spoke about her experience as a PhD student at UC Berkeley studying biophysics. For her undergrad she went to MIT and majored in physics. Outside of the classroom, she went to Chile to work with telescopes, built a setup to probe quantum mechanical reactions between atoms, and even moved to Rwanda to help build a lab for students. Currently, her research addresses whether single knock mutations can change genetic drift.

For students interested in STEM, she recommends taking MIT's free python or quantitative biology class on EdX.
